DESCRIPTION:

Pressure Reducing Valves (PRVs) are vital components used in many industries requiring water. They are mechanical valves designed to automatically convert a higher, often unsafe input pressure in a system into a lower, more manageable output or downstream pressure.

They achieve this by balancing the inlet pressure against the resistance of a spring, leading to a remarkable mechanism of pressure regulation. The basic function of pressure reducing valves is to reduce high upstream pressure to a constant, reduced downstream pressure, regardless of the fluctuations in upstream water pressure.

Test condition is upstream pressure 8bar, downstream pressure 3bar. Max.

Upstream Pressure of 25 Bar and the operating temperature is 5-70 deg. C.

SPECIFICATIONS:

- Keeps water pressure to a controlled maximum

- Can be set to deliver a reduced downstream water pressure of between 1 and 6 bar

- Can be used in series so that very high mains pressure can be reduced in stepped stages

- Is fixed in the mains supply after any water meter and supply stop cock

- Is used with a pressure gauge, (supplied separately) which can be located on either side of the valve body

- Can be oriented into any position and not just as shown, however it must not be fitted upside down

- Must be protected against frost

- Must be protected against the effects of water hammer. If this problem exists or is likely to, a Water Shock Arrester should be used upstream of the valve

- Individually factory calibrated with an upstream pressure of 8 bar and a downstream pressure of 3 bar.
