DESCRIPTION:

Soot primarily consists of carbon particles which are the byproducts of the incomplete combustion of wood or solid fuels.

Complete combustion is almost impossible on domestic combustion equipment so soot build-up in the flue-ways and chimney serving the fire or stove is inevitable. Chimney cleaning should be carried out on a regular basis and never less than once a year and sometimes much more often when wood is being burned on a stove.

The amount of soot produced will depend on both the fuel being burned and the manner in which the appliance or fire is used. If the soot is not removed it has the potential to dangerously block the chimney creating the possible discharge of dangerous fumes, including carbon monoxide, back into the dwelling.

Soot can also be easily ignited and if it does so within the chimney, extremely high temperatures can be achieved which are more than capable of subjecting the chimney and appliance to severe damage. 

This kit is designed to enable the removal of light to moderate “Soot” & “Creosote” deposits commonly found in chimneys as a result of burning wood and solid fuels. It is NOT designed for removing solidified creosote or “Glaze” deposits, which are usually very difficult to remove.

- 10 x 1m long, 12mm Ø sturdy rods made from POM plastic and incorporating strong button operated connections made from aluminium
